A popular destination is Tortuguero on the northern carribean side of Costa Rica. The small village is surrounded by the sea and tropical rainforest. The are no roads you can reach Tortuguero only by local plane or by boat. South of the village is the entrance to the national park, north of town is the airstrip for flights to San Jose. The sea on the cost of Tortuguero is very rough and no spot for swimming. From Frebruary to November it's possible to watch nesting turtles.
